Mandate reflects support for identity and development
The Chief Minister said the verdict was a clear endorsement of the government’s focus on development and protection of Assam’s identity, along with continued trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“This is a historic and unprecedented victory and moment for Assam. I want to dedicate this win to the people of Assam because this verdict would not be possible without their support,” Sarma said while addressing reporters.
He added that the electorate had once again backed a governance model centred on development, stability and safeguarding the state’s cultural identity.
Clear majority, opposition rejected
Sarma said the scale of the victory was in line with the party’s expectations, pointing out that BJP had secured a clear majority on its own, reflecting wider acceptance among voters.
Taking a swipe at the opposition, he said the results showed that people had rejected divisive politics and instead supported a governance model based on delivery and performance.
Focus on growth, jobs in next term
Calling the mandate a responsibility, Sarma said the government would move ahead with renewed commitment, focusing on economic growth, infrastructure and improving social indicators.
He added that the development push had resonated with young voters looking for better opportunities and a stable future.
